FAQ

WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF FIXER?

Fixer started off as one of many character driven stories that Roger Shackelford developed, but never released during middle school and high school in the late 90’s and early 00’s. Enthralled with rock music, Roger wished to explore it further by creating a story about a group of characters that eat, sleep and breathe it. From someone who was never a trained musician, he wanted to explore thoughts such as what it’s like to write music, perform for small crowds, get signed to a label, become famous, tour, go platinum and eventually, stepping out on stage for the first time at your own stadium concert. However, as he wrote about these fantasies and read more about the histories of his favorite bands, the more he started to realize the drama and hardship that comes with creating a band, maintaining that band, becoming successful, maintaining that success, but most of all, not losing yourself in the process. Before Roger finished high school, he completed the story of Fixer and shelved it like he did with so many other stories.

His experiences in writing Fixer though, led him to a career in Japanese rock and worked as the U.S. manager for noted visual kei bands such as Versailles, BLOOD and BORN.

In mid-2008, he purchased a copy of Rock Band 2. The game allowed you to create your own four piece band to play as in the game. Roger’s first thoughts were of Fixer. After creating and playing as the band, watching them fully animated and brought to life, and performing in front of virtual millions, Roger was inspired to actually publish the story of Fixer. He went back and retooled it, making it more accurate to the experiences he gained from now actually working in the music industry. He spent the next 3 years looking for the perfect artist. After several artists came and went, a chance encounter at a Girugamesh concert brought him to meet Danny Kang. After pitching the idea to him, the two began collaborating, melding their ideas together into what is now “Fixer,” Tainted Reality’s first official web-comic series.

WHAT IS THE UPDATE SCHEDULE?

Fixer will be updated the first Thursday of every month, with supplemental goodies sprinkled throughout the month to enrich the story.

WHAT’S YOUR POLICY ON FANART AND FANFICTION?

We welcome it by all means! In fact, please send it to us and we may update our site and social networking outlets to get it out to the other fans!

IS FIXER AN ON-GOING DRAMA, OR DOES IT HAVE A DEFINITIVE BEGINNING AND END?

Fixer has a definitive beginning and end. It will not go on indefinitely. Depending on the success, however, we may do a spin-off and an epilogue story-arc a few years down the road.

WILL THERE BE ACTUAL CD’S RELEASED OF FIXER’S MUSIC?

Depends on the web-comic’s success. We definitely want to do it, but only if it can be financially supported, and welcome by the fanbase. We already have started assembling a writing team, and know exactly how many albums we would want to produce and even how each album will sound! However, we only want to go forward with it if we have the support of the community.
